Tis the Season of Thankfulness – Waste Masters is Ready, Are You?

11/12/2019 by WsiProjects

Waste Masters Solutions is thankful to be in a position to support our community. Co-founders Steve Masterson and Brian Simmons have long realized the benefit of giving back to the community and hope to inspire others to see the importance of giving during the holiday season and throughout the year.

As a retired non-commissioned Air Force officer, Masterson has championed a wide variety of veteran-based causes, such as #greenlightavet, #Flex4Forces and Stop Soldier Suicide. They encourage employees to embrace their favorite causes.

Mike Alamorian - Wreaths Across AmericaWreaths Across America (WAA) Day pays tribute in veterans cemeteries nationwide. The WAA mission includes raising awareness of the sacrifices veterans make for the country and encouraging more people to remember.

On December 14th, 2019 a coordinated wreath-laying at Arlington National Cemetery and at 1,600 additional locations in all 50 states, at sea and abroad.

Meet Mike Alamorian, a long time Waste Masters employee who has participated in Wreaths Across America for the past five years. He drives a co-brand semi-truck to pick up the wreaths from a Columbia Falls, Maryland location and meets Waste Masters’ employees at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, where the wreaths are placed at veterans graves to honor our American heroes. The event takes place on a Saturday in mid-December.

We are grateful to employees like Alamorian that enable Waste Masters Solutions to make community service a cornerstone of our business. If you would like to support Wreaths Across America by volunteering or wreath sponsorship, click here.

How Show Your Support on Veteran’s Day

10/22/2019 by WsiProjects

America’s veterans have gone above and beyond their patriotic duty to our nation. They are some of the bravest men and women among us and deserve our support and deep appreciation for their sacrifice.

Every November, we set aside a day to celebrate our veterans. Veterans Day is Monday, November 11, 2019 and we thought sharing some ways to thank them for their service might be helpful.

NFL SALUTE TO SERVICE

The NFL Salute to Service runs between November 1 and November 19. Every use of the hashtag #SaluteToService on Twitter will generate $5 donation up to $5 million, to the NFL’s military non-profit partners. On Veteran’s Day the donation will increase to $25.

GREENLIGHT A VET

Please join the Green Light a Vet campaign by changing one light to green as a symbol of your support. Inspire others to join the cause by sharing a picture on social media with the hashtag #greenlightavet . Post your light on the Greenlight A Vet map to share your support with veterans across the nation.

DELAWARE TRUST FUND DINNER

Friends of Delaware Veterans Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino Rollins Center.

SPORTS CLIPS/VFW HELP A HERO PROGRAM

7 Porta Potty Rental Tips for Events in the Tri-State Area

08/13/2019 by WsiProjects

Are you are in charge of a large outdoor event, such as a Art or Music festival, Harvest Festivals, outdoor summer camp, wedding or a simple backyard BBQ?

Have you considered the need for portable restrooms for your event? If so, those of us at Waste Master Solutions thought that creating a simple video on porta potty rentals might be helpful. Many first timers may not consider some of these basic things when handling porta potty rentals.

Setting up vendors, caterers, tent and table rentals, porta potties and hand sanitizing stations are a few of the items first on the list for many event planners. Waste Master Solutions provides porta potty rentals for many of Delaware events, such as the annual St. Anthony’s Italian festival and the Firefly Music festival.

7 Porta Potty Tips for Your Next Outdoor Event:

  1. Location: Try placing your portable restroom in a high and dry area close to where beverages are served.
  2. Alcohol: Trust me, when alcohol is being served, they will get more use!
  3. Sanitation: Often a hand wash stations is advisable and sometimes required to keep your site up to code.
  4. Night Events: If your event will go until dusk or later, consider adding a light for safety and security purposes.
  5. Visibility: Place your restrooms in a highly visible area or have clear signs, so guests can find them.
  6. Cleanliness: If your event lasts for more than a day, consider having restrooms serviced daily so they are clean each new day.
  7. Handicap Access: It is advisable to have a handicap restroom for those with special needs or children.

Portable restrooms are often overlooked when it comes time to planning that outdoor event.  Yes, it’s not a glamorous as getting a D.J or photographer, but hey, we all have to go!

If you need help figuring out how many porta potties you’ll need for your event, check out our ‘How Many Porta Potties Do I Need?‘ article.

Waste Masters Solutions is a reliable provider of top-of-the-line sanitation solutions, delivering porta-potties in pristine condition for events all around the Tri-State area, serving Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
